AMPA ACADEMICS
A-G REQUIREMENTS
AMPA enjoys our own academic and performing arts faculty consisting of 21 academic teachers, 9 performing arts teachers, and a professional expert instructor teaching all technical theater classes. All students must complete their A-G requirements prior to graduation. Alexander Hamilton Senior High School staffs dedicated A-G counselors and academic counselors to ensure that students are on track.
The two dedicated AMPA counselors work to pair magnet students with magnet teachers but students can take courses across the Hamilton complex, provided there are openings in those classes. .
There are over 25 AP courses. courses beginning in 10th grade and Honors courses in all subjects except math.
While several of our students apply to performing arts programs and conservatories, many graduating AMPA seniors use their arts and academics training to pursue careers in engineering, health related fields, business and a variety of other fields.
